Dragonwings Wouldn't you love to fly? To soar, to glide, way above everything.

San Francisco's Chinatown is the setting for this award-winning story. A father and son share the dream to build an airplane, to fly beyond their lives as Chinese immigrants. It's the dawn of the 20th century. Their new world is often in harsh contrast to their dreams. Yet they persist. They find allies. They soar. Through their dream of flight, father and son find each other. In a world that includes legendary Dragon Kings and real earthquakes, it's a story of hope and love.
