School Partnership Program
About the Program
Since 1993, CTC's School Partnership Program (SPP) has been joining with public schools in Minneapolis and St. Paul to integrate theatre arts with existing curricula through a combination of deeply discounted tickets, bus transportation, and teacher workshops. The program provides:
- $1 tickets to two shows for all 1st-3rd grade students in each partner school
- Bus transportation to and from CTC
- Teacher workshops conducted by CTC teaching artists prior to each show. These free workshops provide classroom teachers with useful tools and methods to incorporate theatre arts into their curriculum.
Partner schools participate in the program for a three-year cycle. Once this cycle is completed, schools are asked to sit out a full three-year cycle before re-applying to the program.
Applications for 2008-2009
Sorry, the deadline for applications for the cycle that begins September 2008 has passed. To be eligible for this program, at least 50% of a school's population must be eligible to receive free and reduced lunch. When choosing applicants, we look for schools that can provide a strong program coordinator that will maintain communication with CTC and encourage high levels of participation in teacher workshops.
