Simply Clown with Noah Bremer of Live Action Set:
This class will explore the basics of European clowning. The focus here is on honesty and vulnerability rather than gags, gimmicks or tricks. Exercises are designed to release your inner clown. We will clown around with comic timing, the art of being playful and physical comedy. Students will use these techniques in the creation of scenes.
Weeklong intensive.
M-Th April 19 - 22 4pm–6:30pm  •  $130

Directing Lab:
We will work to create both a theatre community and to create a 3 to 5 minute Shake & Bake Festival. As a group, we will discuss themes, analyze text, work with concepts of space and physical articulation and explore various directorial approaches. Creating 3 to 5 minute pieces and performing in each other’s shows, the Shake & Bake Festival will involve techniques calculated to work in an accelerated fashion. Prerequisite: Acting fundamentals course experience or equivalent.

Jerome Robbins Technique:
One of America’s premier choreographers, Jerome Robbins and one of his best known creations West Side Story, are the work of this one-day immersion. Learn the basics of this master’s approach and work with Linda Talcott Lee, who is joining us at CTC as the choreographer of Disney’s Mulan Jr. Prerequisite: Dance fundamentals course experience or equivalent.

Creative Collaboration with Jon Ferguson:
Bring your ideas, story fragments or half finished plays. Bring your acting troupe or find one here. Make or develop a one person show, a double act or a larger company work. Come and work with award-winning theatre maker and director Jon Ferguson to create and shape that play or performance work you’ve always wanted to make or complete. Work collaboratively playing, writing, sharing, and developing to make work that is theatrical, poetic and visual. Move your work and ideas forward. There are no excuses now.
Weeklong intensive.

Cunningham Technique:
Achieve centeredness; alignment and a strong technique through the basics of the modern dance style founded by the late Merce Cunningham. Prerequisite: Dance fundamentals course experience or equivalent.
