Telling Tales:
Learn basic acting skills while re-creating
fairytales and folks tales. Working with theatre games
and activities, students learn to express themselves
while learning basic theatre terminology, exploring
character development, active listening, problemsolving,
and refining motor skills and ensemble technique.
Thursdays 4/15 – 5/20 4pm-5pm

Learn beyond basic acting skills while recreating
fairytales and folks tales. Working with theatre
games and activities, students learn to express themselves
while learning theatre terminology, exploring character

Sing Disney:
Working with their favorite (and of
course, age appropriate) Disney songs to learn the
fundamentals of singing and creating characters using
their favorite Disney moments. Focus will be on imagination,
coordination, body and vocal awareness.
Prerequisite: Music fundamentals course experience
or equivalent.
Thursdays 4/15 – 5/20 5pm-6pm

Dancing Stories:
This class will work with basic elements
of ballet, jazz, modern and creative movement
as articulated through the strong images found in ageappropriate
folk and fairy tales. Each class will have a
warm-up, stretching, story and dancing. Props may be
added to support the creative energy.
Prerequisite: Dance fundamentals course experience
or equivalent.
Wednesdays 4/14 – 5/19 4pm-5pm

Shared Playwriting:
Using our understanding of stories
we know, poetry, and songs, students will learn
how to write a play together using a shared writing process.
The play will include conventions of rhythm and
rhyme, as well as cover the basic process of creating
a play from outlining to final draft, but in a simplified,
shared and supported format. We will spend time
moving and playing theatre games, using these exercises
as springboards for our writing. The session will
conclude with a presentation of our original play and
each child will receive a copy of the script written by
the class.
