PM: Peter and the Wolf: (Full)
This week we use the classic story and composition as inspiration! Children will transform themselves into the different characters of the story including Peter, Grandpa, the Duck, the Cat and of course the Wolf! Speaking, singing and creative movement will be intertwined through every class. Each day students will create an art activity related to one of the tale’s characters. The art activity will be just for art’s sake or for a costume piece (i.e. duck tail, Wolf ears, etc.)

AM: Around the World in Stories: (Full)
So many of our most beloved fairy tales have also been told to children around the world. Explore the world as seen through the eyes of these children and the words of their favorite tales.

PM: Song to Story:
Your favorite songs (Wheels on the Bus, Itsy Bitsy Spider, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and more) become your favorite stories as characters you have only sung about come to life!

AM: Onstage: (Full)
Explore the world of theatre through the use of costume, props, sets and lights. Through theatre games and acting exercises, this class will focus on freeing the creative spirit of each child while building a dynamic ensemble

PM: Fairy Tale Mix up:
The world of fairy tales turned upside down as characters wander into other character’s stories- whatever will become of fairytale land?

AM: Shel Silverstein’s Greatest Hits:
Using the poems and stories of this classic writer, students will explore storytelling through the quirky inventive lens of Shel Silverstein.
July 12-16 9:30am-11am •  $125

PM: Musical Tales:
Have fun exploring how to combine music, sounds and stories together in many different creative ways. We’ll use songs to tell stories, find stories that need a song, write our own songs, and learn how to create a musical “soundscape” for a variety of forms of art. This class is all about creative self-expression through music helping build a strong musical foundation to explore theatre arts!
July 12-16 2:30pm-4pm •  $125

AM: Legends Unite!: (Full)
Travel back in time and explore a variety of legendary characters, heroes and heroines such as Mulan and Sir Lancelot, unforgettable figures like Cinderella and Peter Pan, and even the most infamous villain of them all, Captain Hook, in the class. Who’s your favorite character? Use your imagination to step into a character and make it your own.

PM: One Buggy Afternoon: Did you know that those creepy, crawly, sometimes slimy bugs that pass you by everyday live in a world of their own? Explore this amazing world through the eyes the most famous of bugs- Charlotte from Charlotte’s Web, Caterpillar from The Very Hungry Caterpillar, then create a few worlds of your own!

AM: The Emperor’s New Clothes: (Full)
Have you always wanted to know the behind-the-scenes story to this well-publicized event? Meet the people, the mirrors, and the cloth in the know and hear their version of this age-old story.

PM: Fantastical Fairytales: (Full)
While exploring adaptations of traditional and modern fairytales, we focus on the transformational skills of theatre of creating a character (perhaps a princess or prince), environment (perhaps an enchanted forest or a magical mountain) and circumstances (perhaps fighting the evil wizard, climbing the beanstalk or battling a dragon).
July 26- 30 2:30pm-4pm •  $125

AM: Harold and the Purple Crayon:
This well-loved story will be brought to life by our students in this highly imaginative class by exploring the world of theatre and all the perspectives that change how we see it!
August 2-6 9:30am-11am •  $125

PM: Kitchen Counter Comedy: What do your groceries do when no one is looking- tell each other stories, of course! Let your imagination’s appetite run wild.
August 2-6 2:30pm-4pm •  $125

AM: Pinkalicious: (Full)
What happens when you love a color so much that it takes over your life? What if you woke up one morning to discover you had turned completely pink! Now what!?
August 9-13 9:30am-11am •  $125

PM: Dinotopia:
It’s time to decide: are you a Tyrannosaurus, Brontosaurus or dinosaur from your own imagination? Fall into the past and explore stories of real and not-so-real dinos. Create a story and a dinosaur all your own in this dino-riffic class.
August 9-13 2:30pm-4pm •  $125
