PLAYS FOR YOUNG AUDIENCES
Plays for Young Audiences: The place for top-quality plays and musicals for families!
Plays for Young Audiences (PYA) is a partnership venture between Children's Theatre Company in Minneapolis (CTC) and Seattle Children's Theatre (SCT), the two leading theatres for young people in the nation. CTC and SCT created PYA to provide a centralized clearinghouse of scripts written for young audiences to professional theatres, amateur/community theaters and schools. Both CTC and SCT are well known for commissioning productions that are topical, contemporary, fantastical, and written by some of today's leading playwrights. We license the most popular plays for young people, including If You Give a Mouse a Cookie, Go, Dog. Go!, Bunnicula, Pippi Longstocking and Tales of a 4th Grade Nothing.
In addition to the critically acclaimed bodies of work created by CTC and SCT, we have plays by multi-award-winning international writers whose work for young people has a strong reputation for showcasing high quality, innovative styles of theatre. Through its service to the larger children's theatre community, PYA will be a catalyst to drive the field of theatre for young people to new heights.
"Your selection is by far the most artistically sound, challenging dramatic literature for young actors I have found. Thank you and keep up the fine work!"
