Ushering
We need friendly and outgoing people who love theatre to help us ensure that everyone coming to our plays have a great time!
Volunteer usher responsibilities may include:
- Greeting patrons
- Passing out programs
- Helping seat patrons
- Taking tickets
- Guarding the stage
- Helping our staff tidy up the theatre after performances
Our minimum age for volunteers is 12 years old (when accompanied by an adult). When the performance being presented is recommended for teen audiences, minimum volunteering age is 14 years old (again, when accompanied by an adult).
We can accommodate 1-4 volunteers for performances on our UnitedHealth Group stage and 1-2 volunteers for performances on our Cargill Stage. Volunteer shifts begin one hour before the scheduled show time. You will receive an email confirmation when you have been scheduled and informed where you will need to report for your performance.
Dress code for volunteer ushers is:- White dress shirt (please no t-shirts)
- Black pants or black skirt
- Comfortable shoes (no heels or open-toed shoes)
- Sweaters are fine, though we do prefer white or black sweaters.
Please note: Volunteer ushering requires you to be on your feet and able to move up and down stairs. Some light lifting may be required.

Scheduling is based on availability when the performances are requested. If the performance already has scheduled volunteers we will try to schedule you in another performance.
