CTC is committed to a future when our theatre is a home for all people, all families, reflective of our community. CTC's Access programs identify and mitigate real and perceived barriers to participation for underserved populations, including cost, transportation, accessibility, language, and unfamiliarity with the value of theatre. Our annual reach through Access is 80,000, more than one-third of our audience each season.
Created to bridge economic realities of low income youth and families, the ACT Pass is a new program providing financial aid to attend Children's Theatre Company's performances, classes, and camps. ACT Pass-holders are eligible for subsidized, $5 tickets to every production and automatically qualify for scholarships to our Theatre Arts Training (TAT) classes and camps. Individual households and organizations working with underserved communities are welcome to apply for an ACT Pass.
$10 Ticket Program
In an effort to keep our shows affordable to all families, we offer $10 tickets for every performance in our regular theatre season. $10 tickets are available online, over the phone, and in person for all regular season productions starting on July 22 when single tickets go on sale to the general public.
Theatre Arts Training Scholarships
A key component of Children’s Theatre Company’s commitment to education, scholarships provide a diverse cross-section of our community access to quality arts education.

When I came to the Latino Access Program, I thought, 'Wow! I feel like I've known this place forever.' They are very welcoming; the people that were opening the door were Latinos; they were opening the doors for the Latino community. -LCAP program participants, 2012-2013 Season.
Early Childhood Initiative
CTC recognizes the importance of investing in early childhood development. Our early childhood initiative creates extraordinary theatre experiences that enhance and support the relationship between the artist and the child in order to activate and nurture the creativity inherent in each child.
Sensory Friendly Programming
CTC is committed to increasing access and inclusion for children and families with sensory, learning, and social disabilities. Developed in partnership with the Autism Society of Minnesota, CTC offers new Sensory Friendly performances and guidance to provide a supportive and welcoming environment in which families can experience high-quality theatre together.
Children’s Theatre Company offers one of the most exciting Student Matinee experiences in the nation. Student Matinees provide students with a rich, literary experience while equipping educators with a variety of curricular connections. Student Matinees are subsidized for all visiting schools; schools with at least 30% of the students qualifying for Free and Reduced Lunch receive greater ticket subsidies.
MPS 2nd Grade Field Trips
In partnership with Target and the Minneapolis School District, Children's Theatre Company provides all second grade students in Minneapolis Public Schools with a field trip to attend a live theatre performance on our stage, at no cost to families or schools.
Neighborhood Bridges and Early Bridges
CTC’s nationally recognized literacy programs collaborate with Twin Cities’ area classrooms. Storytelling and creative drama help children develop their critical literacy skills and to transform them into storytellers of their own lives. All Bridges classrooms attend a student matinee show at CTC.
