Making the transition from the academic to the world of professional theatre can be tough. Making that transition without the benefit of practical hands-on experience with a reputable professional theatre makes it even tougher. Children’s Theatre Company (CTC) internships provide the opportunity to develop the tools you will need to move forward in your chosen field - working on a daily basis with dedicated theatre professionals and collaborating together in the largest children’s theatre in America.

Build your resume, make connections and have the option of earning college credits. Administration and production internships are available year round.Internships at CTC are unpaid; however, interns receive other employee perks such as complimentary tickets, invitations to meet and greets, staff meetings and more.

Internships can run from a few weeks to a full season. The type of internship applied for determines the length of internship. Please check the individual internship descriptions for timeframe.Applicants must be at least 18 years old. It is recommended that persons interested in these positions apply anywhere from one to six months prior to their availability, depending on the specific internship for which they are applying.

How to Apply:
To apply for an internship, please complete the internship application
and provide the following:
- Three letters of recommendation from people who know your work well such as employers, professors, supervisors or mentors.
- A resume of work, theatre experience and any relevant training.
- A personal statement of 500 words or less that answers all of the following questions:
- Why are you interested in an internship with the Children’s Theatre Company?
- What strengths would you bring to this internship?
- What are your career goals and how would a CTC internship assist you in attaining those goals?
Please include the personal statement, resume and letters of recommendation with the completed application. If you are not including all of your letters of recommendation, please note when you will send them. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
3. Performing Apprentice Program
Hone Your Skills at CTC! Boasting one of the nation's most respected and intensive Performing Apprentice Program, CTC offers a comprehensive opportunity for gifted young actors ages 18 and older. Each season, four to six talented young adults become working members of our acting company. CTC Performing Apprentices have the unique opportunity to perform on the UnitedHealth Group Stage alongside our Resident Company members, locally, nationally and internationally renowned guest artists, and student actors. The rigorous apprenticeship also includes developing new plays through intensive workshops and readings, as well as the study of movement/dance, voice/music, and theatre arts.
