A St. Paul Presence for CTC - The Children's Theatre Company and Concordia University team up to tech a tour
For Immediate Release: September 18, 2001
The Children’s Theatre Company and Concordia University of St. Paul are embarking on what promises to become a long-term and mutually beneficial relationship. CTC will be using Concordia’s E.M. Pearson Theatre to run tech rehearsals for the 2001-2002 touring production, Grimm Tales, before it hits the road on a four-month tour of the Midwest, including 48 performances in 22 Minnesota communites.
"This partnership with Concordia University is very exciting to us for many reasons," said CTC Artistic Director Peter C. Brosius. "Not only will we have a fabulous space outside of CTC to work in as we do the final technical and dress rehearsals for our touring production, we will also able be to share our work more directly with St. Paul families."
Having the touring company at Concordia’s E.M. Pearson Theatre, conveniently located just off of I-94 and Hamline Avenue in St. Paul, means it is possible to offer a public performance of the Grimm Tales for metro area audiences to see, an opportunity that has not been available in recent years.
"We are so pleased to be working with The Children's Theatre Company," said Michael Charron, Concordia University Creative Director. "We are especially looking forward to presenting CTC’s only metro area performance for Grimm Tales."
The single public performance of Grimm Tales is Friday, September 21 at 7:30 p.m. Ticket prices are $8 for children, seniors, and students, and $10 for adults. For more information, call Ticket Works at (612)343-3390. The E.M. Pearson Theatre is located on the Concordia University campus at 312 Hamline Avenue North in St. Paul.
The Children’s Theatre Company is nationally and internationally acclaimed as America’s flagship theatre for young people and families. Each year, CTC’s public performances, school matinees, regional tour performances, and Theatre Arts Training programs serve over 340,000 people.
