Many Hands, One Heart - CTC’s TAT alum will deliver peace banners to The New Victory Theater in NYC

WHO:
The Children’s Theatre Company, the nation’s largest theater for young people and families.
WHAT:
The children of the Twin Cities are extending their hands to the children and families of New York City through peace banners that were made during CTC’s annual Open House on October 18. Many of the 2500 young people and families who attended CTC’s 2001 Open House participated in creating these special banners which will hang in the lobby of CTC’s sister theater, The New Vic in New York City. The banners contain fabric cutouts of the hands of the children as well as short writings about what peace means to them. The banners will be presented by recent CTC Theatre Arts Training alum, Dylan Dawson. After ten years of study at CTC, Dawson is currently a freshman at NYU.
In response to the gift, president of The New Victory Theater, Cora Cahan said, "We are deeply touched by the generous support and affection shown by the kids and families of the Twin Cities. We will proudly display these banners in The New Victory’s lower lobby and we are grateful to The Children’s Theatre Company for helping to create such a heartwarming statement for peace. The theater family is broad and diverse, and these banners are a testament to the beauty, power and strength the arts give not just to their local neighborhoods, but to their national and international communities as well."
