Expanded Education Classes in CTC's NEW McGuire Education Center
For Immediate Release: September 7, 2005
Minneapolis, MN - Fall 2005 marks the beginning of expanded classes in the new McGuire Education Center at The Children's Theatre Company. With four classrooms, a fully sprung dance studio and an educational performance space, CTC can now make theatre arts training available to students aged 4-18 with 107 class offerings.
CTC Education programs provide theatrical learning opportunities that challenge, empower and encourage young people to develop skills that will serve them both as performers and as citizens of the world. For forty years, The Children's Theatre Company has been a home and a training ground for thousands of young students who are now working in all walks of life, including the theatre.
Many of the theatre skills learned at CTC translate into tangible skills that aid young people in becoming successful. At the core of CTC's educational philosophy is the belief that every young person has a story to tell. CTC teaching artists help students tell their stories with clarity, confidence and passion - whether it's at school presenting an oral report, recalling an adventure with friends, or at a first job interview. CTC's mission is to provide theatre arts training experiences that inspire and educate, whether your child wants to become the next bright light on Broadway or the next great senator from the state of Minnesota.
"We are excited to be able to offer so many new classes, and welcome so many new young people into the CTC community of artists, educators and students," said Teresa Eyring, CTC Managing Director. "Our new facility gives us the opportunity not only to create programming for toddlers through teens, but also provides them an outstanding performance space. And, the parents of our students have more choices now, too. They can take a class themselves or just wait comfortably for their children in our new Best Buy education lounge."
Classes begin in September 2005 and end in May 2006. For more information about class availability, auditions, or registration contact the Education Office by phone (612-872-5118) or by email (education@childrenstheatre.org) or by going to www.childrenstheatre.org/education.
