Here is the blue sheep, and here is the red sheep. Here is the bath sheep, and here is the bed sheep. But where is the green sheep?

For Immediate Release: May 4, 2007

The Green Sheep WHO:
The Children's Theatre Company (CTC), the nation's leading theater for young people and families and recipient of the 2003 Tony® Award for Outstanding Regional Theater.

WHAT:
The Children's Theatre Company presents the Windmill Performing Arts production of The Green Sheep based on Mem Fox and Judy Horacek's book Where is the Green Sheep?

The production is directed by Windmill's Creative Director, Cate Fowler. Literacy advisor for the production is Mem Fox with Richard Gill as Music Advisor, Jeff Meiners as Dance Advisor and Installation Design by Roy Ananda (inspired by the illustrations of Judy Horacek) and musical arrangement by Fleur Green.

In this interactive production, audiences sit on a patch of green grass and together, with actors, search for the illusive Green Sheep. The Green Sheep, designed specifically for ages 1 to 4, brings to life the illustrations of Judy Horacek and captivates young imaginations by integrating music, puppets and motion to create an exciting introduction to the world of theater.

Peter Brosius, CTC’s artistic director, is thrilled to bring the work of Cate Fowler and Windmill Performing Arts to the United States.

"I have had the great pleasure of knowing many of this company's productions and know that our audience will respond to the quality and creativity that they bring to their work. A work of live performers and puppets, this play will entrance and delight our youngest audience members with the wacky, whimsical search for the wonderfully elusive Green Sheep."

Cast includes Tim Lucas, Nadia Rossi, Robert Tomkins and Vanessa Ellis. Windmill Performing Arts is Australia's flagship performing arts company for children and their family audiences. Windmill provides high-quality performances experiences to inspire and enrich cultural experiences, education and imagination. Since 2002 Windmill has performed to over 173,000 children and families, nationally and internationally.

CTC's early childhood program is partially funded by a major grant from the Bush Foundation.

The Green Sheep opens May 11, 2007 and runs through June 3, 2007. Preview performances are Tuesday, May 8, Wednesday, May 9, and Thursday, May 10.
