WHO:
The Children's Theatre Company (CTC), the nation's leading theater for young people and families and recipient of the 2003 Tony® Award for Outstanding Regional Theatre.
WHAT:
The Children's Theatre Company once again opens its season with a double-header. First up in the 2007-2008 line-up is Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day. Based on the book by Judith Viorst, with book and lyrics by Judith Viorst and music by Shelly Markham, the production is directed by David Schweizer, with set design by Chris Acebo, costume design by David Zinn, music direction by Victor Zupanc, choreography by Matt Jenson, lighting design by Geoff Korf, sound design by Maury Jensen, and stage managed by Kathryn Sam Loftin.
In Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day, Alexander wakes up with gum in his hair, trips on his skateboard, drops his sweater in the sink and discovers that his brothers are conspiring to trade him for some roller blades...and that's before breakfast! As his day progresses, this youngster finds no prize in his cereal box, the ride to school is sickening, his teacher doesn't like his drawing of an invisible castle OR his singing, and his friends demote him to third best friend. And, there's more...
Returning to the cast from the original production are CTC company members Gerald Drake and Dean Holt – although Dean will be playing different roles. CTC company member Autumn Ness will play Audrey, Alexander's mom. The company also includes guest artists Derek Huntley as Alexander, Doug Neithercott; and new CTC Performing Apprentices, Christian Gibbs and Max Wojtanowicz.

Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day, which runs in repertory with Average Family, previews August 21, 22 and 23; opens September 24 and runs through October 28.

TICKET INFORMATION:
