Whether your school comes to see a production, or we bring our workshops and residencies to you, Children's Theatre Company creates theatre experiences that educate, challenge, and inspire young people. By presenting significant themes that affect young people’s lives in our community, we seek to foster dialogue and discussion. School Field Trips
Children's Theatre Company offers weekday performances for schools. CTC strives to provide an exceptional opportunity to expose your students to the power and wonder of live theatre and the arts at a fraction of the cost. With this in mind CTC subsidizes Student Matinee tickets and the savings passed on to you can be as much as $37 per ticket.
Free study guides are provided for all CTC productions. These guides feature creative activities to help support teachers’ lesson plans, while meeting specific Minnesota Academic Standards. Following each Student Matinee is 5-10 minute post-show Q&A with cast and crew. Continuing education workshops, Educator Preview Night, are available for each title. Simply book a group for any Student Matinee performance and we will invite you to a preview performance of your show.
Our facility features two dynamic performance spaces, the 747-seat UnitedHealth Group Stage and the Cargill Stage, a flexible black box theatre that can seat up to 298. Space for lunch can be reserved in the lobbies for both theatres. There is also easy bus loading and unloading at our front door, plus free and convenient parking. ASL/AD services, special needs seating, and infrared listening devices are available for each production.

Financial Assistance for School Groups
Children’s Theatre Company Student Matinee Ticket and Bus Subsidies:
Limited funding is available to offset the ticket and transportation costs for school groups attending the student matinees at Children’s Theatre Company. The subsidy supports field trips to the theatre occurring between July 1, 2010 and June 30, 2011. The intent behind this subsidy is to reduce financial barriers to an experience, thereby exposing more children to the transformative power of live theatre at Children’s Theatre Company, and providing access for schools that have not historically been able to attend.
